Hastingwood Securities Data Centre links directly to the major POP’s in England where we undertake transit from no less than four Tier 1 International Transit Providers (Telia, Level 3, T Systems and AboveNet), with our own private peering to Telx, New York, USA. We use multiple high capacity fibre links which are disparately routed and arranged in an auto fallover configuration for greater reliability.
This ensures that our connectivity is fully redundant and active management means that we have the best possible links in place - guaranteeing that all routes to and from our network traverse the least number of hops and suffer the least delay. We are one of the only providers to use QoS from our network borders (Demarc) to ensure high performance across our backbone.
Based on the relationships and pricing leveraged out of our data centre connectivity, Hastingwood is pleased to offer Internet Transit provision. Maintaining our focus on Pure Ethernet Services, Hastingwood Securities has partnered with a number of providers to offer an unbeatable service (note - some geographic limitations apply: contact us for details).
Hastingwood securities can offer Internet connectivity from 3 Mbps to 1000 Mbps based on Ethernet connectivity, giving the customer a number of benefits over traditional telco SDH based offerings:
1:1 bandwidth offering zero contention
You are the only user of bandwidth on your connection. Other services have contentions where they share your bandwidth with other users. With non contended connections, what you pay for is what you get!
Full Duplex, symmetric downloads and uploads
Our connections offer the same throughput in both directions. Whatever download speed you pay for, we will match the upload speed. ADSL and other inferior services typically offer upload speeds of 128 and 256 kbps, regardless of download speed.
LAN speed performance
Ultra low latency, typically less than 1 ms between remote end and our gateway.
Completely scalable solutions
10, 100 and 1000 Mbps circuits can be installed and bandwidth can be allocated upon demand, at the flick of a switch. This ensures a cost efficient and future proof solution that can NOT be matched with traditional implementations.
Lower cost of installation
Expensive routers become a thing of the past. The customer can obtain a service from Hastingwood Securities presented as an Ethernet CAT5 RJ45 plug, which can be plugged directly into an Ethernet Port on a switch. We can setup our end of the connection as your default gateway and provide you with all DNS, SMTP services etc.
Firewalling and bandwidth shaping
Where customers require these types of services on their side of the network. Hastingwood Securities can provide a fully managed solution, which we include with the monthly rental. The solution is fully scalable as well, allowing realtime full duplex throughputs of up to 2000 Mbps (1000 Mbps in either direction)
Our Ethernet services are typically presented as LES 10, 100 and 1000 Mbps services, which are all fibre optic based and far less likely to encounter problems of service than other service types. In addition, Hastingwood can offer completely redundant connectivity, adding further levels of security for mission critical applications.
All customers are connected directly to the quad multi homed section of our network. This ensures maximum resilience and performance. All routes out of our network traverse the shortest distance by automatically selecting the best carrier to deliver your packets. If a carrier does down or has upstream routing problems, Hastingwood routing simply diverts the traffic through another carrier to ensure performance.
As an ISP, Hastingwood must enforce a Fair Usage policy. Please refer to our our FAQ section or click here to download our Fair Usage document.
